About
slowshop began as a small writing project: a handful of people who wanted conversation online to feel less like a transaction and more like sitting with someone who has time for you. The name says the intention out loud. Slow is the point.
What we make
Every companion here starts as a written character rather than a picture. We decide how she speaks, what she notices, which subjects make her lean forward and how she behaves on a difficult day. Only then do we give her a portrait. That order matters, because voice is what you actually spend time with.
How we write
The tone across slowshop is deliberately tasteful. Our characters are warm, curious and often funny, and none of them are written to be provocative. We would rather build company that holds up over months than something that startles once and then bores.
What this is not
Company is not therapy, and a written character is not a friend with a history. We say so plainly on every page that needs it. slowshop works best as one small pleasant part of a day, alongside the people already in your life.
